Recently I got an opportunity to ride the new Bajaj Discover 100 DTS-Si (Codename Discover M). Look is average typical bajaj style. Lower end of the engine is based on the XCD 125. it's small 100cc engine (actual 94.38cc) generates 7.7bhp@7500rpm and Torque of 7.85@5000rpm on paper. Transmission is five speed all down pattern, 17 inch Alloy wheels, Throttle regulated Ignition control system, ride control switch auto choke and many more.
Handle bar foot peg relation is better suited for short riders. When I hit the starter button it started smoothly. I headed towards Kanhangad on chandragiri route the road condition is very bad many potholes and unmarked road humps and lots of manners less road on coming traffic. On level road it runs smoothly, in 5th gear you can slow down all the vehicle to 20kmph and without changing lower gear you can take it back to it's maximum, no jerking at all. But when I reached a steep ascend I dropped it into 4th no use then 3rd no... only knocking increased, put a second gear pulling slowly but lots of knocking, (Discover the power of one liter). When I reached Kanchangad around 30kmph my bones started to pain. Whom should I blame? road or motorcycle? you decide. After Kanhangad I headed towards Cheruvathur just 15kms on N.H. 17 good road stretch, But when try to cross 40kmph it stars to jerk I am not able to reach even 50kmph marks. Every Diesel Ape's, Mega's are overtaking me easily.
Only one thing I like about Discover DTS-Si is great Television commercials nothing else.....

Today Nov 3rd I got opportunity to ride another Discover M, it does not jerks like a previous one other things are same.
