TWIN SPARK



Now a days Twin spark ignition systems is making news in Indian two wheeler industry not because of its technology but due to controversy between three manufactures likely Bajaj, TVS and Royal Enfield.

Twin spark ignition system is not new technology, Alfa Romeo was used it in it's V8 engine in way back to 1986. Honda also using it their two and four wheelers, this system is helps to meet emission norms by burning the mixture completely and it helps to increase power and fuel efficiency slightly.


In India Bajaj was introduced this technology in their Second generation Pulsar range of motorcycles and they called it DTSI (Digital Twin Spark Ignition) it worked well in their Pulsar twins then they used it in Discover range of motorcycles and Motor scooters, Now almost all Bajaj range adopted this technology.


On 31st of August 2007 when TVS launch new 125cc motorcycle Flame in the market Bajaj claimed that it has occupied its technology. TVS claims that its technology is different from Bajaj. At the same time Royal Enfield announced it has going to introduce All New Unit Construction Engine in Thunderbird with Twin Spark technology on November 2007.
